We get to read any amount of fluff from Travel Business bodies trying to convince themselves and us that they're addressing the Sus-Travel issues we like to look at here. Finally there does seem to be a group talking some serious sense: THISD [Tourism & Hospitality Institute for Sustainable Development] is based in Switzerland, and seems to be under no illusion how much of an uphill struggle they've got on their hands - but they're determined to have a go. Their site as it stands - www.thisd.org - is stronger on intentions than anything much delivered (there is, so far, a little research online - but solid-looking) yet it bodes well if they get the influx of business and academic figures that they're looking for.
Another one to keep an eye on, and, yes, we wish them all the luck in the world.
