Don't Go Chasing Waterfalls...
A waterfall standing at 2,529ft, said to be the third tallest in the world, has been ‘discovered’ in Peru.
For many years, locals kept the location of this idyllic spot a secret,
fearing the curse of a serpent guarding the waterfall should they
reveal its whereabouts to others. Now, thanks to the recent revelations
of a German scientist, this myth is becoming a reality. Tourism chiefs
have been quick to make literal inroads into the region. Accommodation
facilities and access roads are now snaking their way through the
jungle to open up the area for tourists by 2007.
