Along with eight Pakistani trade unions, the ITF joins with British
and Pakistani airline workers to ask members of Britain's Pakistani and wider
communities to support them.
Protests have already happened in London and Bradford (PIA's British base), and a leafleting campaign will target mosques
and Sikh temples in Leeds, Bradford and Manchester.
The ITF took Pakistan to the International
Labour Organisation, which ruled the government was violating trade union rights
The tactic was defended by ITF General Secretary David Cockroft: "We've tried everything else – from persuasion, to petitions, to the
ILO. The trade unions in Pakistan are being hit hard, and they're asking us to
help them hit back."

Having flown PIA myself some years ago, while they're well-priced and not in the slightest bit risky (unlike other airlines in the region) - oh and I loved the inflight Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan! - they can be more than a little sketchy. Don't think you'd be missing much :-)
